General Meeting Presentation What is RAID?
RAID stands for Redundant Array of Independent Disks. That is, a way to use additional hard drives to your benefit.
Level 0, striping, splits data across multiple drives resulting in higher data throughput.
Level 1, mirroring, writes the same data to multiple drives at the same time so if one drive fails there is no data loss.
Other levels involve parity and distributed parity.
Find out which RAID level is right for you at the August meeting.
